It was for you

Who has believed our report? And to whom is the Lord's arm? I grew up as a tender plant before him, and as a root out of dry ground; had no beauty or majesty, and we shall see him, there is no beauty in it, that we should desire. He was despised and rejected of men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows bore; and we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. We all gone astray like sheep; each of us has turned to his own way; but the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; like a lamb led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before its shearers, so he opened not his mouth. By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and who shall declare his generation? It was cut off from the land of the living; the transgression of my people was he stricken. And they made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. However, it pleased the Lord to bruise him, making him ill; when his life a guilt expiation of sin, you shall see his offspring and prolong his days; and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul and be satisfied; with his knowledge shall my servant, the righteous justify many; because their iniquities shall bear upon him. So I give him the part of many, and the powerful, he shall divide the spoil; because he poured out his soul unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. Isaiah 53: 1-12
